Welcome From the President

Hello Woodland Families!

My name is Chris and this is my 5th year at Woodland as a parent. It's also my 1st year as President of Friends of Woodland PTO (FOW) after serving as Co-Vice President last year. I'm excited to start this new year strong.

The past year has come with a lot of change. In 2023, we added new members to our Board with fresh ideas. We moved the Fall Festival from the parking lot to the upper playground and re-introduced the first International Night since pre-COVID and held our first ever Mental Health Awareness Night. This year, we are looking forward to a re-envisioned Fall Festival, as well as a potential new location for Spirit Nights in addition to the ever popular SkyZone.

If you are new to Woodland, welcome! I hope you'll register on our website, sponsor the PTO, and volunteer with us in some capacity so we can get to know one another and support our wonderful Woodland Elementary School.

What is PTO?

PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization, which is a volunteer-run organization with a mission to make schools a better place for students to learn and grow.

We are a group of parents, guardians, family and community members, teachers, and administrators who work together to create fun events, purchase necessities for the school, and collaborate with others to make our students; time at Woodland the best possible.

If you have a student at Woodland or are a staff member, we would love for you to join us!

What does the PTO do?

ORGANIZE - Organizing school events, family activities, and fundraising is a key part of our PTO.

ENHANCE - Through fundraising efforts, we hep to provide student and teacher necessities and other enriching student activities.

SUPPORT - We aim to provide support for our students staff and Woodland families.

INVOLVE - We help to plan community events, during and outside of school hours, that bring us together in meaningful ways.
